Dr Zoon and Anne met in Gisborne and got married in Bushmere Arms in 2020.
Team Amber began its legacy in 2010 with a vision to establish a unique practice that combines advanced technology with personalised care and attention. Amber Dental continuously updates its practice and skills to deliver the best possible care to patients.
Dr Zoon Kang, who has been part of Amber Dental since 2016, has now taken on the role of Principal Dentist. During his time in Gisborne, he played a vital role in our emergency dental response team and has served in the hospital treating children and adults with special needs under general anaesthesia, as well as in the community clinic Hapu Mama programme. Zoon is committed to his patients and is known for his hard work and thorough professional approach. He brings a wealth of experience across a wide range of dental procedures, having obtained his BDS from the University of Otago and pursued continuing education in dental implants, restorative dentistry, and digital dentistry. Additionally, he is Level 6 certified by the New Zealand Resuscitation Council, ensuring the highest standards of patient care for intravenous sedation.
Anne Hu is the Practice Manager of Amber Dental and practices clinically as an Oral Health Therapist. She holds a Master of Health Science and a Bachelor of Oral Health. Before entering the private practice sector, Anne started her career at the District Health Board, becoming one of the youngest service managers in the country and attending national conferences. In 2018, she was nominated for the Oral Health Therapist of the Year Award.
Zoon and Anne firmly believe in the importance of regular examinations and maintenance care for optimal oral health. Their ‘do it right the first time’ approach ensures that the cost of care remains the lowest in the long-run and reduces the need for rework. They attribute their success to the exceptional team that supports them in bringing their vision to life every day.
